What is the time/energy investment required to get the most from UNBOUND?
In addition to the biweekly somatic coaching sessions, you should be prepared to spend at least 2 additional hours per week engaging with integration assignments, somatic audio practices, & the comprehensive support via text & voice note between sessions in order for your efforts to be most beneficial, & the outcome most impactful.

I've heard the term & feel drawn to it, but what exactly is somatics?
Somatics is the practice of exploring & inhabiting our soma—the collective of our mental, emotional, energetic, physical, & spiritual bodies.

Through somatics, we practice:
> inhabiting our senses,
> giving full presence & attention to our sensations,
> listening to them with curiosity & receiving information,
> & allowing what’s happening in the body—whether emotion, pain, memory, or sensation—to be acknowledged, felt, processed, & released (for good).

In doing this, we directly experience our True Self, we release heavy emotion that we no longer need to carry, & we uncover pure & undistorted insights that help us make life decisions that are truly aligned with who we actually are.

And because we tap into this wisdom by experiencing it (rather than through mental analysis for example), when answers arise, we are able to Know with confidence that we have the right answer for, rather than just thinking we know what to do (which typically leads to more flip-flopping soon after).
Can you define archetypes & explain why you work with them?
Archetypes are universally understood symbols (e.g. mountain, owl, mother, queen): it's a language that pre-dates & transcends language & I use them in my work because I've found in my personal somatic exploration that is is a natural language of the body.

Archetypes also represent the pure essence of something or someone, & for this reason they make powerful mirrors, teachers, & aids when we're exploring ourselves & our self-definitions. It's complicated (& mostly unhelpful) to compare ourselves to other human beings; however it is extremely powerful to get to know an archetype & use them as a means for exploring yourself.
What about parts work & IFS?
IFS (Internal Family Systems) is a "branded" form of parts work. Parts work is a commonly used healing technique in both modern psychology & ancient shamanism.

It works on the basis that our psyche naturally fragments over the course of our lives: in essence, parts of ourselves chip off & are preserved, staying the version of ourselves that we were at the time the inciting experience occurred. (If you've ever said something to the effect of, "A part of me wants to go, but another part of me doesn't want to at all," you are expressing the experience of two separate parts within you.)

Over time, this can become problematic & even chaotic, as our parts oppose one another, & as we begin to outgrow our old coping mechanisms & want to heal & expand beyond our old limiting patterns of behaviour.

When we do parts work, we are communicating directly with wounded parts to love & support them back into integration with us ♡ resulting in incredible healing, peace, & clarity.
What's the difference between nervous system regulation & nervous system repatterning?
Great question!

Nervous system regulation is the process of bringing our nervous system's "set point" back to a neutral state (either "down" from hyper-arousal is we are activated/ in fight–flight state or "up" from hypo-arousal if we are depressed or in freeze/fawn state) so that we can feel safe, calm, & clear-headed.

Nervous system repatterning is a practice we can undertake once we have a well regulated & robust nervous system. In a nutshell, when we repattern our nervous system, we are training it to expand its capacity to hold more (money, love, joy, power) & change its ingrained behaviours from outdated ways of being & responding to new ways of being & responding that we are choosing for ourselves.

Together, nervous system regulation & nervous system repatterning create the opportunity for us to truly (& safely & sustainably) transform our reality from the only place we can ever really change anything: inside ourselves. ♡
